Emergency and Crisis Intervention Resources

If you or someone you know is in an Emergency or in immediate danger (of doing something to seriously harm themselves, someone else, or have already done so) call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.  If you or someone you know is in Crisis, struggling with severe emotional distress and/or disturbing thoughts – such as thoughts of suicide – you can speak to someone 24-hours a day by calling one of the mental health crisis hotlines listed below:

Emergency

If you or someone you know is in an immediate danger (of doing something to seriously harm themselves, someone else, or have already done so) call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.

Crisis Intervention

If you or someone you know is struggling with severe emotional distress and/or disturbing thoughts – such as thoughts of suicide – and would like speak to someone right away, crisis intervention hotlines are available any time of day or night.

1.800.LIFENET (1.800.543.3638) is a 24-hour crisis intervention hotline where you can speak to someone for help or can request help for someone you know.  1.800.LIFENET is a NYC based program that offers mental health and substance abuse resources (crisis services, treatment program and provider directories) for all age groups in several languages.

Samaritans.org (877-870-4673) is a 24-hour hotline for individuals who may have thoughts of suicide or wanting to harming themselves.

Samariteens offers help and assistance for teenagers who may be have thoughts of suicide or wanting to harm themselves. Their telephone number is 800.252.8336.

Domestic Violence and Abuse Resources

If you or someone you know is in a dangerous situation at home, experiencing abusive, violent or threatening behavior by a family member or someone else living in the home.  24-hour domestic violence services and hotlines are available to help you.
